RADIO TOWER
Keyframe: Dead Signal | Project: Evenfall
"The night had fallen over Evenfall like a suffocating blanket, and here I was, trudging up the hill that once held this town’s proud signal to the world. The map I had found crumpled in the mayor’s desk promised me a radio tower, a beacon of hope to find others out there like me. But hope has a cruel way of turning on you. As my flashlight pierced through the darkness, all it revealed was twisted metal where the tower once stood tall. It was demolished. Its carcass was lying sprawled across the hilltop like some giant felled in battle. And around it…they gathered. The undead—those poor souls lost to this plague—were there in masses. Most were wandering towards the last light of day, but a few had already noticed the dim beam of my flashlight because they had turned their hollow gazes towards me, their bodies slowly swaying as if caught in some macabre dance with death itself. I should have felt fear. Perhaps I did somewhere beneath this numbness that had become my constant companion. Yet as I walked there alone amidst the ruins of humanity and its undead remnants, I could not help but wonder if being alive was just another form of haunting. I retreated back into the shadows not yet claimed by them. Tomorrow was another day to search for life amidst this landscape of death, I thought. But that night…that night belonged to Evenfall and its ghosts…"
